Healthcare in the United States has been a longstanding debate. The current pandemic has brought this debate up once more, as many people depend on employer-sponsored health insurance is cut with the loss of jobs people are finding themselves postponing their care. Even before the pandemic, people would postpone care due to cost. The high number of unemployment cases leads to the deduction that there are also a larger number of people without health insurance coverage. Two federal acts were passed to help with healthcare costs at the beginning of the pandemic, but funds will run out. This pandemic is a time to learn and make changes in our healthcare policies at the federal level moving forward.
